Pulisic return, Saul decision: starting XI Thomas Tuchel should select for Malmo vs Chelsea

Chelsea will travel to Malmö for their last Champions League Group H game on Tuesday night.
The Blues notched two wins in their first three games, including a comfortable victory over their Swedish rivals at Stamford Bridge.
Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side couldn’t face the onslaught from Chelsea in their last meeting as goals from Andreas Christensen, Jorginho and Kai Havertz helped Thomas Tuchel’s side win the victory despite injuries to Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku.
This duo remains absent for Chelsea, with Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount.
Tuchel still has plenty of options to choose from and the potential to run most of his squad, and with players heading for another international break, the workload will remain at the forefront of his mind.

Whatever team Thomas Tuchel puts forward for the Champions League visit to Malmö on Tuesday, it should be more than enough to overtake the boys in Group H.
The head coach will want to freshen things up after Newcastle’s game on Saturday and ahead of the home game against Burnley this weekend, but sometimes the needs must and some players will need to have a few minutes under their legs.
The top three are expected to remain intact after the weekend’s win. Christian Pulisic has been to Sweden but it would be a surprising surprise if he starts the game considering he hasn’t been on a Blues squad since the opening weekend win over Crystal Palace.
Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku and Mason Mount are all ruled out midweek, as is Mateo Kovacic.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek pushes again for a start in the competition and Tuchel has a call to decide who to pair him with in Jorginho or N’Golo Kante.
Where the head coach can make changes is in defense. Trevoh Chalobah could be recalled, as could Cesar Azpilicueta, having been named substitute for the victory at St James’ Park.
Sam’s XI: Mendy; James, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Chalobah, Chilwell; Kanté, Loftus-Cheek; Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi, Havertz

As evidenced by their visit to Stamford Bridge, Malmö is unlikely to cause major problems for Chelsea. And that’s why I think Thomas Tuchel should give a boost to some of the Blues’ marginal players.
I would start Kepa Arrizabalaga in the goal. The Spaniard is unlikely to be heavily tested and it is important that he gets regular minutes – where possible – before January, when Edouard Mendy will travel to the Africa Cup of Nations.
To the right of the three defenders should be Trevoh Chalobah, who has looked completely comfortable on the Chelsea side this term. There is no need for Thiago Silva so I would start Andreas Christensen in the center and Antonio Rudiger on the left.
Reece James can have an evening off after his brace against Newcastle. It’s a good opportunity to reintroduce Cesar Azpilicueta after his shoulder problem. at the rear of the right wing. On the left should be Marcos Alonso, who has lost his starting role to Ben Chilwell in recent weeks.
I think this is a good opportunity to start Saul Niguez and I would pair the Spaniard with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has proven he is back to his best within a few weeks.
Due to injuries, the top three pick themselves pretty much on their own. Kai Havertz is a lock to start in the middle and Callum Hudson-Odoi will have another chance to impress on the left.
On the right has to be Hakim Ziyech, although I would make sure to give Christian Pulisic 20 minutes if he’s ready for that amount of football after his ankle injury.
Adam’s XI: Képa; Chalobah, Christensen, Rudiger; Azpilicueta, Loftus-Cheek, Saul, Alonso; Ziyech, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi

While there is no doubt as to how easily Chelsea sent Malmo to Stamford Bridge, the enormity of getting three points at this point in the squad leads to a difficult decision as to how big the squad will be. change from the victory over Newcastle. The extent of the injuries makes it even more problematic.
Nevertheless, some changes should be made so that the Blues can manage playing time before another international break.
Reece James and Ben Chilwell have been exceptional the last few weeks, but Cesar Azpilicueta had a lot of joy against the Swedish opponents last time around, and it’s a good opportunity to give Marcos Alonso some playing time. Trevoh Chalobah is an easy choice to come back to the side, but I’m less sure about Malang Sarr. The Frenchman played against Southampton in the Carabao Cup, but it’s not uncommon for Antonio Rudiger to be a mainstay.
The midfielder is perhaps the most difficult position to select, but Tuchel should take the opportunity to rest N’Golo Kante while he can, and there could be a similar thinking process for Jorginho. Malmö offers a solid opportunity for Saul Niguez to start, far from the intensity of Premier League football, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also deserves a start in the middle. Hopefully it will be safe enough against the Swedish side.
If Christian Pulisic is really in good shape with his return to the squad, he should start. If the pace of the match is similar to that of the previous clash with Malmö, then his frankness could have a lot of impact, where Hakim Ziyech’s investigation has not taken place in recent weeks.
Ross Barkley could also find himself starting, in a bid to prove his worth to Thomas Tuchel or a potential club. The latter did not have a relentless schedule under Tuchel so it could pay dividends.
Maybe a little too much cotton around some amazing players, but you don’t have a lot of opportunities.
Scott’s XI: Mendy; Chalobah, Christensen, Rudiger; Azpilicueta, Saul, Loftus-Cheek, Alonso; Pulisic, Havertz, Barkley.
