Vancouver – Southern lithium development company (the “Company”) (TSX-V: LIS) (OTCQB: LISMF) (Frankfurt: OGPQ) the Company is pleased to provide an update on drilling preparation for the Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project, Salta, Argentina.

The Company has contracted Minera Santa Rita for the construction of roads and drilling platforms. Minera Santa Rita is a well-known local contractor who recently completed work for the project neighbor POSCO.

Based on the results of a recent MET study, three main wells are planned for the Alba Sabrina claim block. The 2,089 hectare Alba Sabrina claim block and the largest block in the HMN Li Project, has never been tested in drilling. The construction of a road and a platform will give access to the three well sites. Local access is good and the project area will only require about two kilometers of road construction as well as three drilling platforms. The dimensions of the cushion will be thirty meters by thirty square meters.

Vice-president of the company Fernando Villarroel is quoted, “We are very happy to move forward the project for the potential expansion of the current resource. The Alba Sabrina block is the largest of the set and represents an excellent drill target. ‘

About Lithium Sud

Lithium Sud focuses on the development of Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project (HMN Li Project), located on the Hombre Muerto Salar, a major lithium-producing salar in Argentina. The property is adjacent to land under development by the Korean multinational corporation POSCO, who acquired the land from Galaxy Resources Ltd. for us $ 280 million. The Company has carried out a preliminary economic assessment of the HMN Li Project in 2019, using conventional evaporative extraction.

The Company is evaluating conventional evaporation as a processing method and direct lithium extraction (DLE) as an alternative method. Three DLE candidates are currently being assessed. Two 2,000 gallon bulk brine samples are in transit; a sample goes to Oakland California for testing by Lilac Solutions, and the second sample goes to Chengdu China for testing by Chemphys. DLE test work is also underway in Salta, Argentina by Eon Minerals.

In addition, the Company plans to potentially extend the known resource by drilling various areas of interest identified during a recent MET survey. The Company is awaiting the approval of the drilling permits currently under review by the Mining Secretariat in Salta, Argentina.
