Krejcikova and Ruud pursue stellar seasons

It is Zidansek’s first career WTA title and propels her from 13 places to 37th best career place.
“The semi-finals at Roland Garros have shown me that my game is good enough to compete with the best,” said Zidansek, who trailed 4-2 in the tiebreaker.
“I’m really happy with the way I played there, and it just showed I can be there.”
The other WTA winner this weekend was Putintseva, who triumphed on clay in Budapest, Hungary, with a 6-4 6-0 victory over Anhelina Kalinina.
This is the second title of his career, and the first in two years.
In the action of men, Ruud was victorious on clay in the ATP 250 event in Bastad, Sweden – his second title of the season after winning in Geneva in May.

âIt has been an amazing week, maybe the best week of my life,â said Ruud. âIt’s an incredible feeling to play here at Bastad with Swedish, Norwegian and Danish support. There is nothing like that crowded feeling at home.
Also on clay, Carreno Busta won the biggest title of his career at the ATP 500 event in Hamburg.
